dog treat recalls

Nestle Purina Pet Care announced on Wednesday that it is recalling Waggin’ Train and Canyon Creek Ranch dog treats, and Milo’s Kitchen (owned by Del Monte) announced that it is recalling its Chicken Jerky and Chicken Grillers treats as well.

Pet treats made in China have been linked to escalating reports of illness, mostly in dogs, since 2007. Dogblog has posted several articles previously about the problem. The FDA has yet to identify what is causing the problem; the current recalls are because trace amounts of antibiotics have been found in these treats, in amounts too low, the FDA says, to cause any illness.

To be on the safe side, check packaging labels and don’t give your pets any treats made in China, regardless of brand.

One of the many reasons I love Jones Natural Chews. :) All natural and 100% made in the USA!

Ever since the dilemna involving tainted dog food from China that kiled so many innocent pets, I don’t give my pets ANYTHING mad in China! Read your labels–even the rubber dog toys made in China can be harmful.
